Abstract

Advances in Internet technologies, the increasing success of cloud computing and the new styles of interaction introduced by the recent vision of Web 2.0 are extending their influence to both decisional and business environments. It makes rational to suppose the gradual appearance of flexible decisional supports enabling users to be effective in capturing information regardless of its format and location. This paper presents an architecture and exploresthe security aspects of a Smart Business Environment System (SBES) that assists decision makers in solving spatial problems while capturing contents and spatial functionality that are available on the web in form of open data, APIs and reusable services. Distinctive aspects of our proposal are (i) the definition of a service-based architecture supporting the SBES;(ii) the consideration of security aspects relying on the exploitation of heterogeneous data sources and the outsourcing of sensitive data which can become out of control of their owners.
