Plug-in Electric Vehicle (EV) is considered one of the most promising technology to implement the distributed storage because it combines social mobility need and environmental issue with technological function. The application of Vehicle-to-Grid concept (V2G) allows the storage energy management based on EV to be economic sustainable too. In the present paper, the authors present a model to evaluate the effect of EV penetration on weakly interconnected power systems subjected to an intensive renewable energy exploitation, by both electrical and economical points of view. In particular, a geo-referenced planning algorithm for EV diffusion is proposed in order to define, basing on the actual mobility knowledge, the best compromise between mobility, energy storage and energy utilization. Furthermore, the economic analysis from the final user point of view has been developed with the aim of defining suitable starting places for the EV diffusion process.
