LA FOSSA DI SAN GUGLIELMO A CAGLIARI. Metodologie di lettura per il recupero e la valorizzazione del paesaggio urbano.

The paper proposes the study of an urban landscape set in a "fragile" urban environment. The area surveyed, is the so called "Fossa di San Guglielmo” in Cagliari. The site, involved since ancient times as a constant human presence, preserved until the beginning of the twentieth century interesting natural features. From the first half of the twentieth century, we observe the appearance of the first buildings related to activities for hospital care. In a short time they will be complemented by a series of design interventions that will compromise the delicate balance of the environment and landscape system. Through drawing and examination of historical maps, we want to read and represent the local current spatial configuration and the occurred transformations. The drawing shows the signs of permanence and the recent changes, marks that derive from physical and anthropogenic factors. The signs identified, are placed as the starting point of a path of knowledge for the recovery and enhancement of the urban landscape of this area.
