These are the proceedings of a conference of the AISS (Associazione Italiana di Studi Sanscriti), which was held at the University of Bologna on March 27–28, 2015, and saw the participation of numerous scholars from all over the country. The first day and part of the second were devoted to the presentation and brief discussion of twenty–three papers freely investigating a wide variety of Indological topics (from philosophy to poetry, from linguistic to Buddhist tradition and to Sanskrit literature). In the final seminar, titled "Purity/Impurity", eight papers were presented and discussed. The articles comprised in this volume were selected by the AISS Board; they attest the latest developments in the field of Indological studies and the activities and research projects carried on in the main Italian Universities, thus documenting the developments of Sanskrit and South Asian studies in the last years.
