In this paper an interactive CAD method is proposed for designing two-dimensional cascades of turbomachinery blades, with particular reference to the cascades for turbine blading. The analytical profile shape is described by means of polynomial relations, fitted with circular arcs at the leading and trailing edges. The method developed also makes it possible to optimize the cascade and the blade profile shape by using some auxiliary procedures for inviscid and viscous flow calculations and performance prediction.

Abstract
