The paper concerns the development of the Monachism in Sardinia from the origins to the 15th century. It is yet unknown when they spread the monastic life, because a lot of information are legend. Surely, some monks arrived at the beginning of 6th century with Fulgenzio, bishop of Ruspe, and other catholic refugees from Vandalic and Aryan Africa. They introduced the rule of Agustin, based on prayer, charity and manual work, that remained all over the Early Middle Age. Only during the XI century som monks from Cassino Abbey brought Benedictine Order, together with other monks from Saint Victor of Marseille. In the Middle Age there were the Mendicant Orders.
