Abstract

It’s well known that in the oscillometric method pressures is measured using the characteristic ratios, RSYS for systolic and RDia for diastolic. The values of these parameters vary from person to person within intervals whose amplitude is not precisely known. The aim of this paper is to propose a model for error checking in the oscillometric method, deriving from the difference between the individual ratios and any custom ones adopted by the system of measurement. There are many theoretical solutions which were presented for modeling the oscillometric measurement system. They are more or less 2 sophisticated and substantiated by experimental measurements. This mathematical model was developed entirely on a spreadsheet, and is based on experimental data. It is essentially an algorithm capable of generating oscillograms with reference to the oscillometric ratios, previously derived from experimental oscillograms, determined on any individual patient. The pressures calculated using the two different oscillometric ratios, were compared with the average of the pressures measured during the determination of the reference oscillogram. Finally, for any individual patient, were calculated, the deviations as difference between the real and the model value, the mean and the standard deviation.
