Nuovi documenti sul fallimento della compagnia Frescobaldi in Inghilterra

The paper aims to show new records relative to Frescobaldi’s bankrupt in England at the beginning of XIV century. The notarial cartulary of ser Rucco di Giovani da Rondinaia illuminates some aspects of the financial crash thorough a long series of arbitral awards sentenced in 1317 Florence: first of all the structure of the Frescobaldi lineage, the number of the partners and the organization of the company. Political and social elements are melted with the economics ones as was revealed by the credits claimed from some Tuscan towns and by the spectacular treasure, maybe the same took from the tower of London in 1311, concealed in the nearby Siena and finally deposited to the abbot of Florentine Badia in order to rescue some imprisoned members of the Frescobaldi clan.
