Domizio Brocardo (circa 1380-circa 1457) was a Paduan poet who wrote a collection of lyrics (109 sonnets, 2 canzoni, 5 sextains, 14 ballads and 2 madrigals). In the sequence of the texts reported by the ms. Trivulziano 1018 (T1), it can be divided in three sections: in the first one, according to the model of Francesco Petrarca's Rerum vulgarium fragmenta, the poet narrates his love for Galatea who, as Laura, refuses him; in the second one, after Galatea's death, Domizio falls in love with Lia, who is represented quoting Giovanni Boccaccio's Ninfale fiesolano; in the third one, Brocardo mourns for the death of his sons (Francesco and Ziliola) and his wife.
