The diagramma was an ordinance or law issued “in the name of the kings” by the royal chancery of the Macedonian and Hellenistic kingdoms dealing with a variety of subjects: e.g. imposing a new constitution, prescribing the recall of exiles or the creation of a new lawcode, regulating court procedures as well as solving border disputes or prescribing a tax law.
