In the Treasury of the Church of Saint Nicholas at Ottana, in the province of Nuoro, are a enameled copper basins, probably belonged to religious building since the days when it was Cathedral of the Diocese of Othana. The liturgical objects are the survivor of two gémellion. They were used until a period not established with certainty. They were so far analysed only in encyclopedic texts or posts on the sidelines of studies on other topics of medieval jewellery. This job performs an analysis of the artifacts, formal comparisons, and shows up to a chronological proposal and provenance of objects.
Nel tesoro della chiesa di San Nicola a Ottana, in provincia di Nuoro, sono custoditi due bacili in rame smaltato, probabilmente appartenuti all'edificio religioso già dai tempi in cui era cattedrale della diocesi di Othana. Gli oggetti sono riconoscibili come due gémellion, finora analizzati solo in testi di carattere enciclopedico o posti a margine di studi su altri argomenti di oreficeria medievale. In questo lavoro si compie un’analisi dei manufatti, si indicano dei confronti formali, sino ad arrivare a una proposta di cronologia e di provenienza degli oggetti.
