Abstract
Metaphor is a phenomenon that often is at the center of theoric dichotomies and antitheses. The relationship between vocabulary and usage is one of these. The theorical debate has, in fact, often been developed in terms of opposition between lexical semantics and pragmatic: a metaphor may belong to the lexicon, so its understanding does not require the use of context information for use; alternatively, the metaphor can be seen as a violation of lexical constraints and it can be understood only if the context of use is unknown. This voltage was reflected in the theoretical modeling of the meaning not literal in the context of computational linguistics (ie the area of intelligence Artificial dedicated to language processing). A discussion about simulative issus around metaphorical language is the subject of the chapter.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
