The MAAII project marks the continuity of the cultural work that Casa Falconieri together with the School of Architecture of the University of Cagliari (with the UNICAtype research group coordinated by Carlo Atzeni, Associated professor in Technical Architecture, along with the project and research collective Ruraltype) has disseminated within the territory. With the workshop “Costruzioni per paesaggi del vino” (Structures for Wine Landscapes) held in May 2015 in Serdiana during an event organised by Casa Falconieri – FIG, Festival Internacional de Grabado for Monumenti Aperti 2015, the work group launched an experimental cultural process which had one of its most intense outcomes with the musical event related to the “European Heritage Days” promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture and held at Villa Binaghi, prestigious head-officesin Cagliari of the Superintendence of Architectural Heritage (BAPSAE). The dialogue between the different disciplines - Art and Architecture - found its specificexperimentation object in the design and construction of a small self-built architectural volume, which is flxible in use therefore open to different possibilities of colonisation and activation of place relations. This process has been developed via various workshops and organised events. MAAII – built with recycled wood, that can be dismantled and transported – can be laid delicately on the territory, leaving traces that – albeit intangible in the long term – create experiences and contaminate the nodes of a virtual network on the territory which, in distant places and different times, hosts cultural events related to the promotion of creativity.
