The area under study includes a well-circumscribed geographical region, consisting of the middle valley of the Rio Mogoro. Territorial analyses show that during the proto-historic age, between the Middle Bronze Age and the Late Bronze Age, there was a system of territorial control, effected thanks to the construction of imposing Nuragic towers located in strategic position, to defend the economic wealth of this region. The results of the spatial analysis are confirmed by the data from the excavations at the Cuccurada nuraghe, one of the most impressive proto-historic monuments in the area. Recent archaeobotanical analysis effected in this site testify an advanced and diversified agriculture, where the main cultivated cereals are represented by barley naked and dressed, hard and soft wheats. The archaeozoological analysis complete the food framework: there was the farming of sheep and goats, in addition to pigs and cattle; deers, wild boars and Prolagus were hunted; there is also an occasional exploitation of shellfish, mullet and sea bream.

Abstract
The archaeozoological analysis complete the food framework: there was the farming of sheep and goats, in addition to pigs and cattle; deers, wild boars and Prolagus were hunted; there is also an occasional exploitation of shellfish, mullet and sea bream.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
