Il Legno per l'Architettura Lieve = Wood for Light Architecture

In recent decades the problems related to sustainability and energy saving have favoured the revisitation of wood as a building material. The present volume traces the linguistic and technical evolution that this material has undergone over the centuries. The analysis is conducted both through the interpretation of some models and archetypes developed from the diachronic and synchronic constructive culture, and with the exhibition of twenty significant contemporary projects that highlight and confirm the expressive modernity of the material. The publication is supplemented by a detailed bibliography, including a glossary related to the above-mentioned items, and analytic indices.

Le problematiche relative alla sostenibilità e al risparmio energetico hanno favorito, negli ultimi decenni, il ritorno del legno come materiale da costruzione. Il libro ripercorre le evoluzioni linguistiche e tecniche che questo materiale ha subìto nel corso dei secoli. L’analisi è condotta sia attraverso la lettura di alcuni modelli e archetipi sviluppatisi dalla cultura costruttiva (da quella storica a quella contemporanea) che con l’esposizione di 20 significativi progetti contemporanei che ribadiscono l’attualità, anche espressiva, del materiale. La pubblicazione è completata da specifici apparati bibliografici, da un glossario relativo alle voci citate e da alcuni indici ragionati.
