In this contribution the author analyses the natural park system in the Region of Sardinia, Italy. On the bases of the natural, cultural and the historical landscape overview presentation, the author present preliminary analyses of naturbanisation dynamics of the island. Exploratory spatial data analysis techniques are used to measure actual urbanisation trends, the potential for implementing naturbanisation models where not spontaneous, and future opportunities in the light of the actual planning framework.
