Within the framework of the first-order shear-deformable plate theory we discuss the deformations of a layered plate with surface/interfacial stresses acting on the plate faces and layer interfaces. We consider the Gurtin-Murdoch model of surface elasticity. For the derivation of two-dimensional governing equations we apply the through-the-thickness integration procedure. As a result we present the constitutive equations for stress resultants and discuss the influence of surface Lamé moduli on the effective properties of the laminate.

Abstract
Within the framework of the first-order shear-deformable plate theory we discuss the deformations of a layered plate with surface/interfacial stresses acting on the plate faces and layer interfaces. We consider the Gurtin-Murdoch model of surface elasticity. For the derivation of two-dimensional governing equations we apply the through-the-thickness integration procedure. As a result we present the constitutive equations for stress resultants and discuss the influence of surface Lamé moduli on the effective properties of the laminate.File in questo prodotto:
