Como la imagen arqueológica sedujo los arquitectos de las ciudades posmodernas

Between the 1970s and the 1980s, at a time when the so-called postmodern season was emerging and being defined, some of its protagonists described their projects by referring to the idea and images of archaeology. It seems, at first glance, to be a move driven by a return to the past - a formula celebrated in that time interval - but if investigated more deeply, it appears instead to be a tension that cannot but be recognised as a radical renewal.

Tra gli anni Settanta e gli anni Ottanta del XX secolo, nel momento in cui emerge e si definisce la cosiddetta stagione postmoderna, alcuni dei suoi protagonisti descrivono i loro progetti facendo riferimento all'idea e alle immagini dell'archeologia. Sembra, a prima vista, una mossa guidata da un ritorno al passato - una formula celebrata in quell'intervallo di tempo - ma se indagata più a fondo appare invece una tensione che non può che essere riconosciuta come radicale di rinnovamento.
