The main thrust of Kurt Riezler's work on Die Erforderlichkeit des Unmoeglichen (1913) (The requisiteness of the impossible) is a theory of politics in which two points are of great importance, namely the orientation to the future and the striving for the infinite as something which is fundamentally unattainable. The overarching topic of subsequent studies by Riezler was also the impossible; they discuss the problem of art and of freedom as well as of the beautiful and the good with respect to the lawlike order of life. As in the case of Riezler, for Heidegger in the thirties the occupation with the problem of the possible (or the impossible) initiated a new style of thought about art and politics.

Abstract
The main thrust of Kurt Riezler's work on Die Erforderlichkeit des Unmoeglichen (1913) (The requisiteness of the impossible) is a theory of politics in which two points are of great importance, namely the orientation to the future and the striving for the infinite as something which is fundamentally unattainable. The overarching topic of subsequent studies by Riezler was also the impossible; they discuss the problem of art and of freedom as well as of the beautiful and the good with respect to the lawlike order of life. As in the case of Riezler, for Heidegger in the thirties the occupation with the problem of the possible (or the impossible) initiated a new style of thought about art and politics.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
