The volume collects 15 papers by Italian and foreign authors on a variety of themes and issues related to the Mediterranean. The volume investigates aspects related to contemporary history and the Italian Risorgimento; analyses of literary and media products on the theme of migration and the dualism between North and South Italy; contributions on travel literature and on the image of Italy and its South in foreign literature. The aim of the volume is to reflect on the multiple interpretative keys of the relationship between North and South Italy and between the North and South of the globe, in the specific Mediterranean dimension. The work creates a dialogue between similar fields of study in a multidisciplinary perspective: linguistics; literature; history; cinema and arts.
Il volume raccoglie 15 contributi di autori italiani e stranieri su una molteplicità di temi e questioni relative al Mediterraneo. Sono indagati sia aspetti legati alla storia contemporanea e al Risorgimento italiano; analisi di prodotti letterari e mediali sul tema delle migrazioni e del dualismo Nord-Sud Italia; contributi sulla letteratura di viaggio e sull'immagine dell'Italia e del suo Sud nella letteratura straniera. L'obiettivo del volume è quello di riflettere sulle molteplici chiavi interpretative del rapporto tra Nord e Sud Italia e tra Nord e Sud del globo, nella specifica dimensione mediterranea. L'opera fa dialogare campi di studio affini in un'ottica multidisciplinare: linguistica; letteratura; storia; cinema e arti.
