This essay analyses the difference between anatomical illustrations in scientific treatises produced between the 15th and 16th centuries (starting with an unpublished image in a Florentine manuscript from around 1470) and artists' anatomical drawings. It raises the problem of the scarce philological study of the latter (autography, copy-studies from originals by great masters, visual canons, groups of drawings-copies sharing the same origin) and initiates an analysis in this sense by identifying in the Bolognese (Passerotti) and Lombardy (Carlo Urbino, Figino) areas, in the second half of the 16th century, developments of studies by Leonardo and Michelangelo.

Abstract
This essay analyses the difference between anatomical illustrations in scientific treatises produced between the 15th and 16th centuries (starting with an unpublished image in a Florentine manuscript from around 1470) and artists' anatomical drawings. It raises the problem of the scarce philological study of the latter (autography, copy-studies from originals by great masters, visual canons, groups of drawings-copies sharing the same origin) and initiates an analysis in this sense by identifying in the Bolognese (Passerotti) and Lombardy (Carlo Urbino, Figino) areas, in the second half of the 16th century, developments of studies by Leonardo and Michelangelo.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
