The article presents the RICI (Ricerca sull’Inchiesta della Congregazione dell’Indice) database, a crucial tool for the study of religious libraries in Italy at the end of the sixteenth century. The database compiles and indexes information from inventories and book lists prepared by religious orders for the Congregation of the Index. This project, developed with the contributions of several universities and religious orders, offers a comprehensive overview of sixteenth-century book collections and allows for tracking the circulation and dispersion of volumes, many of which have since been lost.

Abstract
The article presents the RICI (Ricerca sull’Inchiesta della Congregazione dell’Indice) database, a crucial tool for the study of religious libraries in Italy at the end of the sixteenth century. The database compiles and indexes information from inventories and book lists prepared by religious orders for the Congregation of the Index. This project, developed with the contributions of several universities and religious orders, offers a comprehensive overview of sixteenth-century book collections and allows for tracking the circulation and dispersion of volumes, many of which have since been lost.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
