The Punic-Roman necropolis of Mitza de Siddi in Ortacesus is a rural site located in the historical-geographical area of Trexenta, in southern Sardinia. The great investigative interest covered by this necropolis lies in many factors: first of all, the long period of attendance, which develops from the III century B.C. to the III century A.D., and the numerous and diversified sepulchral objects found are also of great importance. These, in fact, are configured as potential indicators of acculturation phenomena that occurred in Sardinia on the occasion of the conquest of the island by the Romans, as they can show what were the ritual choices practiced by a strongly punicized community. Furthermore, the analysis of the topography of the funerary space, associated with the analytical study of the grave goods and the types of burial carried out, helps to identify very precise cultural facies of the Hellenistic age, helping to make the cultural mechanisms better understood in the phase of transition from Punic age to Roman age.

Abstract
Furthermore, the analysis of the topography of the funerary space, associated with the analytical study of the grave goods and the types of burial carried out, helps to identify very precise cultural facies of the Hellenistic age, helping to make the cultural mechanisms better understood in the phase of transition from Punic age to Roman age.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
