This chapter examines the use of titles in the canonical Alexandrian editions of Simonides, Pindar, and Bacchylides. I offer an annotated critical catalogue of all the surviving titles of Simonidean, Pindaric, and Bacchylidean poems and I analyse their transmission, structure, contents, implications, and factual basis.
Il contributo esamina l'uso dei titoli nelle edizioni canoniche alessandrine di Simonide, Pindaro e Bacchilide. Si presenta un catalogo critico annotato di tutti i titoli di carmi simonidei, pindarici e bacchilidei superstiti e se ne analizzano la trasmissione, la struttura, i contenuti, i sottintesi, e la base fattuale.
