In this contribution we will describe the characteristics of pre-departure orientation activities for refugees, focusing in particular on two aspects: the needs (linguistic and non linguistic) of the beneficiaries and the characteristics of a curriculum for PDO sessions; the theoretical and methodological framework and evaluation tools for PDO activities.Specifically, in section 2 we will describe the nature and characteristics of PDO activities, while in section 3 we will describe the methodological framework and the set of research tools used for evaluation, with a brief description of the first results obtained in the experimentation.
