The present paper tries to highlight some recurring forms of rural landscape in Sardinia into a general Mediterranean historical landscape construction culture, in particular into the specific relationship between city and countryside. The European rural landscape – and particularly the Mediterranean – has showed, until the first half of twentieth century, the more or less marked alternation between the ‘close’ dimension of boundaries and the ‘open’ of the field which represent different ways in which the inhabiting communities, into their specific territory, implement the“…slow, difficult and daily con struction” of landscape. With different versions, linked to settlement, culture and environment territory logic, this ‘modus’ has ever been clear into the landscape construction and into its developing urban forms. It may be found a strong connection between Douro’s and Peloponneso’s terraced plots and the spindled blocks of villages, between the large courtyards of premodern founded farms and the southern agrocities urban porous fabric, between the dense structure ‘en laniéres’ of the European openfield and the gothic lots of the cities. Therefore, the landscape’s structure and the local body reading, it is nowadays really useful to understand better the real nature of our settlement and re-descover their ‘environmental dimension’ with the aim to overturn the model, since the modern age, has totally taked off the link between city and its territory.

Abstract
Therefore, the landscape’s structure and the local body reading, it is nowadays really useful to understand better the real nature of our settlement and re-descover their ‘environmental dimension’ with the aim to overturn the model, since the modern age, has totally taked off the link between city and its territory.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
