Dal recinto all’azienda. Invarianti e processi di modificazione del presidio dell’agro in Sardegna

The contemporary dynamics of European rural landscapes spread critical issues about the rural farm design, due to its renewed centrality for the management of agrosystems. In Sardinia, we can consider the farm as a rather new landscaping machine for its ability to shape a new settlement model (although linked to premodern archetypes) that is rather autonomous from the centripetal strength of the village. This paper traces the processes of modification that shaped the architectures and landscapes of Sardinian rural farms, which are in some respects a non-secondary part of the built heritage. This is particularly relevant in a critical phase such as the current one, in which the new position of Sardinia is in fact at stake in an increasingly unstable globalization scenario that provokes deep changes in the current paradigms of the economy and society linked to the land, and therefore to its product and the landscapes that represent it.
