Giovanni Spano is known for his multiple interests, among which his attention to the archaeological heritage of Sardinia emerges prominently, often at the center of his reasoning and writings. In the present intervention we intend to reflect critically on the possible role of the canonico in the birth and development of historical-artistic studies in Sardinia, through the review of the writings dedicated to architecture, paintings and sculptures, with particular attention to the contexts of the medieval age, to understand methods and practices used by them to examine the artefacts of interest.

Abstract
Giovanni Spano is known for his multiple interests, among which his attention to the archaeological heritage of Sardinia emerges prominently, often at the center of his reasoning and writings. In the present intervention we intend to reflect critically on the possible role of the canonico in the birth and development of historical-artistic studies in Sardinia, through the review of the writings dedicated to architecture, paintings and sculptures, with particular attention to the contexts of the medieval age, to understand methods and practices used by them to examine the artefacts of interest.File in questo prodotto:
