Our article aims to examine, from a theoretical point of view, the structuring and types of schematic phraseologisms in the French language. We situate within the framework of cognitive linguistics (Lyons, 1968; Lakoff and Johnson, 1980 and 1999; Fillmore, Kay and O'Connor, 1998; Goldberg, 2006) and cognitive psychology (Gentner, 1983; Clement and Gentner, 1991; Gentner, Holyoak and Kokinov, 2001; Hofstadter, 1984, 2001; Hofstadter and the Fluid Analogies Research Group, 1995; Hofstadter and Sanders, 2013; Monneret, 2018). We will deal with the concept of the regularizing function of analogy, the question of compositionality and the formation of words. The purpose of this proposal is to question the validity of the hypothesis that we can characterize by reproducible defining properties a category of entities which would be that of schematic phraseologisms.
