As part of the Magi research programme, biochemical analyses were carried out on a dozen ceramics from archaic tombs in the northern necropolis of Tharros. The artefacts analysed come from two distinct sectors of the necropolis (Area A and Area D), located along the coastline, and belong to three functional categories: wine vases (one Punic imitation of Etrusco-corinthian kylix-cup, one Etruscan kantharos in bucchero nero, two Punic bowls, one Punic tripod and one Punic « vase à chardon »), culinary vessel (one Punic cooking pot) and cosmetic/medicinal vases (one Punic mushroom-lipped jug, one Punic oil-bottle and one Etrusco-corinthian aryballos). The results provide valuable data on the organic products used in Punic funeral rituals and make it possible to specify the funerary function of the ceramic categories found in the tombs.

Abstract
The results provide valuable data on the organic products used in Punic funeral rituals and make it possible to specify the funerary function of the ceramic categories found in the tombs.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
