Abstract
Stonework in the rusticated style (bugnato) belongs to long traditions and is recorded in the most different eras. In Sardinia, where the linguistic composition of the building base is being experimented with as early as the Nuragic period (from the 16th century B.C.), rustication spread in the Middle Ages, particularly in military architecture. In Oristano, at the end of the 13th century, the construction of the Ponti tower by Giudice Mariano II of Arborea gives us the opportunity to study a very particular and regular model of rustication, which is also present as a recovered element in the walls of CagliariFile in questo prodotto:
