This paper is an introduction to a wide subject on whether BRICS+ represents a transformative model of transregional cooperation or merely redistributes power within existing frameworks. Despite expanding into the MENA region and establishing institutions like the New Development Bank (NDB), BRICS+ struggles to reform entrenched global institutions such as the IMF and UN Security Council. Through literature review, theoretical and comparative analysis, the study highlights the bloc’s internal contradictions, including geopolitical divergences, that hinder cohesive action. While BRICS+ challenges Western hegemony through de-dollarization plans and South-South solidarity, its reliance on China and persistent hierarchies within the Global South limit systemic change. Ultimately, BRICS+ reflects a recalibration of power dynamics rather than a revolutionary alternative to the Liberal International Order.

Abstract
Ultimately, BRICS+ reflects a recalibration of power dynamics rather than a revolutionary alternative to the Liberal International Order.I metadati presenti in IRIS UNICA sono rilasciati con licenza Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal, mentre i file delle pubblicazioni sono protetti da diritto d'autore, salvo diversa indicazione.
