Foreign language learners often show significant differences in their language proficiency, even when their linguistic backgrounds and learning conditions are comparable. This study explores the factors that influence success in foreign language acquisition, with a particular focus on language accuracy. This includes the correct use of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and communicative appropriateness, which can be affected by both individual factors (e.g. age, motivation, language biography) and external factors (e.g. quality of teaching, language exposure, learning environment). Focusing on Italian-speaking learners of German as a foreign language, the research investigates how these factors interact and influence linguistic accuracy. The results aim to enhance our understanding of these dynamics and provide insights for teaching practice and future research in the field of foreign language acquisition.
