I Goti e l’arianesimo: problemi ancora aperti

The relationship between the Goths and Arianism is still a very complex and unclear issue. The damnatio memoriae of subsequent centuries has caused the dispersion of written texts that are fundamental to understanding the events facts and the dynamics of thought. This contribution aims to reflect on some aspects concerning the way in which this profession of faith was lived in everyday life, in ritual and devotional forms, and in the architectural choices relevant to the places where worship was practised.

Il rapporto fra i Goti e l’arianesimo è un tema ancora molto complesso e poco chiaro, in quanto la damnatio memoriae dei secoli successivi ha causato la dispersione di testi scritti fondamentali per conoscere la realtà dei fatti e le dinamiche del pensiero. In questo contributo si intende ragionare su alcuni aspetti riguardanti il modo di vivere tale professione di fede nella quotidianità, nelle forme rituali, devozionali e nelle scelte architettoniche pertinenti ai luoghi in cui manifestare il culto.
