Dal progetto ai lavori sul campo (settembre 2023-febbraio 2025)

The project Municipal promotions in Africa Proconsularis and Numidia between Caesar and Gallienus: institutions, society, economy aims to update the framework of municipal promotions between 46 BC and AD 268 in the area originally divided into Africa Vetus and Africa Nova, which then, under Lepidus or Octavian, became Africa Proconsularis; later expanded between the reigns of Vespasian and Septimius Severus, and finally divided by Severus himself or by his emulator Gallienus into Africa Proconsularis and Numidia. PARC, the acronym used for website registrations and for the title of this volume, stands for Prosopography of Africa’s Roman Cities.

Il progetto Municipal promotions in Africa Proconsularis and Numidia between Caesar and Gallienus: institutions, society, economy si propone di aggiornare il quadro delle promozioni municipali fra il 46 a.C. e il 268 d.C. in quell’area originariamente divisa in Africa Vetus e Africa Nova , poi con Lepido o Ottaviano divenuta Africa Proconsolare, successivamente ampliata fra il principati di Vespasiano e di Settimio Severo, infine suddivisa dallo stesso Severo o dal suo emulo Gallieno in Africa Proconsolare e Numidia. PARC, sigla utilizzata per la registrazioni dei siti web e per il titolo di questo volume, è acronimo di Prosopography of Africa’s Roman Cities.
