This brief was prompted by a round table discussion on the important themes of God, love, justice and interreligious dialogue. These themes are addressed from the perspective of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, but with an effort to generalize in an intercultural and interreligious key in order to try to define some aspects that characterize Buddhism as a religion. While the idea of God may differ in different Buddhist traditions, in Buddhism, as in other religions, we find the link between the sacred and the divine. The concept of love, closer to the Christian view, must be accompanied by that of compassion, while the theme of justice requires the thematization of self-reform, education and dialogue.

Abstract
This brief was prompted by a round table discussion on the important themes of God, love, justice and interreligious dialogue. These themes are addressed from the perspective of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, but with an effort to generalize in an intercultural and interreligious key in order to try to define some aspects that characterize Buddhism as a religion. While the idea of God may differ in different Buddhist traditions, in Buddhism, as in other religions, we find the link between the sacred and the divine. The concept of love, closer to the Christian view, must be accompanied by that of compassion, while the theme of justice requires the thematization of self-reform, education and dialogue.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
