Abstract

At school, geography and philosophy are worlds separate and far, who have nothing in common. the geography refers to the maps on the walls of classrooms and lists endless. The philosophy of the Cogito and the categorical imperatives. This division has a long history behind it - if that is not long, is still alive and present in contemporary culture. This work starts from a precise interpretative hypothesis: Exploring cognitive and material of the Earth, the firm has forever changed the face of the planet but which neither geographers nor philosophers have taken part directly, would not have been possible without the contribution of those extraordinary codes of the world's writing that are geography and philosophy. Through an archeological dig, we rediscover some of the most significant stages of a common so little known and which is now more urgent than ever to write history: from Kant to Foucault, through Hegel, Marx and Heidegger.
