I festival cinematografici in Sardegna. Analisi dei punti di forza e debolezza e del caso IsReal

Over the past twenty years Sardinia has witnessed a significant expansion of film festivals, which today serve not only as spaces for film fruition but also as tools for cultural production and distribution, networking, and economic impact. This study examines the characteristics of the main events currently active on the island, with a focus on funding, geographical distribution, period of occurrence and themes addressed, while highlighting systemic weaknesses and critical issues. Special attention is given to IsReal – Festival di cinema del reale held in Nuoro, analyzed as an emblematic case for both its history and its consolidated structure.

Negli ultimi vent’anni la Sardegna ha visto un’espansione del fenomeno dei festival cinematografici, che oggi rappresentano non solo spazi di fruizione cinematografica ma anche strumenti di produzione e distribuzione culturale, networking e indotto economico. Il presente studio analizza le caratteristiche dei principali eventi attivi nell’isola, soffermandosi sui finanziamenti, la distribuzione territoriale, il periodo di svolgimento e le tematiche affrontate, evidenziandone fragilità sistemiche e criticità. Particolare attenzione, infine, è dedicata a IsReal – Festival di cinema del reale di Nuoro, studiato come caso emblematico per la sua storia e per la sua struttura consolidata.
