My paper aims to consider the condition of the young slaves and of Croesus, Trimalchio’s deliciae, in Petronius’ description of the dinner party. In this regard, I consider both Trimalchio’s treatment of these slaves and the dynamics between them and the other members of the family. Through the analysis of relevant passages from Petronius’ text, I aim to give an overall reading of the presence of the young slaves in Trimalchio’s dinner scene.

Abstract
My paper aims to consider the condition of the young slaves and of Croesus, Trimalchio’s deliciae, in Petronius’ description of the dinner party. In this regard, I consider both Trimalchio’s treatment of these slaves and the dynamics between them and the other members of the family. Through the analysis of relevant passages from Petronius’ text, I aim to give an overall reading of the presence of the young slaves in Trimalchio’s dinner scene.File in questo prodotto:
