The measurement of psychological variables in a sport setting outlines the different propositions that allow to match performances and behaviours with numbers. Since all the characteristics investigated within the sport psychology are latent, we need to proceed to the identification of the most significant characteristics, together to the measures to them referable, according to a construct validation approach to the measurement. Together to the classical test theory (theory of the true scores), we have taken into account the Generalizability Theory, the Validity generalization method, and the Item Response Theory, as partially different solutions for the individualization of the errors of measurement.

Abstract
The measurement of psychological variables in a sport setting outlines the different propositions that allow to match performances and behaviours with numbers. Since all the characteristics investigated within the sport psychology are latent, we need to proceed to the identification of the most significant characteristics, together to the measures to them referable, according to a construct validation approach to the measurement. Together to the classical test theory (theory of the true scores), we have taken into account the Generalizability Theory, the Validity generalization method, and the Item Response Theory, as partially different solutions for the individualization of the errors of measurement.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
