The book contains ten essays that derive for the most part from the reports submitted to the Conference Semiotics and phenomenology of the self, held at the Department of Philosophy at the University Roma Tre May 3, 2004. They assume as background specific analysis of the notions of "I", "person", "self" and "other" in the light of different methods of investigation, by reference to authors who belong to two different philosophical traditions, the pragmatist and the phenomenological. The common goal is not to an 'overlap' undue between theoretical approaches that can not be confused with each other, but to assess whether it is possible to address the issues "subjectivity" through a research project that compares two different 'points of view'.

Abstract
The book contains ten essays that derive for the most part from the reports submitted to the Conference Semiotics and phenomenology of the self, held at the Department of Philosophy at the University Roma Tre May 3, 2004. They assume as background specific analysis of the notions of "I", "person", "self" and "other" in the light of different methods of investigation, by reference to authors who belong to two different philosophical traditions, the pragmatist and the phenomenological. The common goal is not to an 'overlap' undue between theoretical approaches that can not be confused with each other, but to assess whether it is possible to address the issues "subjectivity" through a research project that compares two different 'points of view'.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
