The great wealth of pre-protohistoric monuments of the Sardinian territory sets the problem to not only study the single monuments, but also the territorial context of pertinence. In the present work we trace a history of the studies about such argument. We underline that, from the phase of the simple collection of data, the researchers have passed to the analysis of the relationship among the monuments with the surrounding environment, trying to identify the procedures of taking of possession and the use of the territory by the prehistoric and protohistoric populations. The archaeologists have begun to apply a series of analytical procedures, elaborated primarily by Anglo-Saxon studies, directed to define, through the use of mathematical-statistic models, the settlement dynamics and the economic-social aspects of the populations: Site catchment analysis, Polygons of Thiessen, Nearest Neighbor Analysis, Rank-Size Analysis, Analysis Cluster, over that the geomorphological analysis of the territory. In protohistoric period, such analysis seem to have put in evidence the existence of an organization of the nuragic landscape of “cantonal” type, that is still better to define in its principal characters.

Abstract
In protohistoric period, such analysis seem to have put in evidence the existence of an organization of the nuragic landscape of “cantonal” type, that is still better to define in its principal characters.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
