The present work intends to propose, through generally unknown data, interesting suggestions on the settlement system of nuragic age in a region still few studied in its monumental protohistoric emergencies, especially in relationship to the geomorphologic and environmental conditionings. The research has, as object, a sample area of approximately 90 kmq characterized by an uneven and complex orography, including portions more or less wide of the communal territories of Silius, San Basilio, Siurgus Donigala, Goni, Ballao and S. Nicolò Gerrei. Many monumental remains are actually been evidenced from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages, with an amazing wealth of settlements related to the nuragic age; these monuments insert this sector of the Southeastern Sardinia in a decidedly more articulated picture than that up to now offered by the fragmentary outline of the studies. The searches have allowed to put in evidence a protohistoric settlement system of averages dimensions, constituted from at least four subsystems: such system should constitute the southern part of a wider socio-political structure, denominated “cantone” from Lilliu, situated in an area that has become the historical region of the Gerrei.

Abstract
The searches have allowed to put in evidence a protohistoric settlement system of averages dimensions, constituted from at least four subsystems: such system should constitute the southern part of a wider socio-political structure, denominated “cantone” from Lilliu, situated in an area that has become the historical region of the Gerrei.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
