This paper concerns an experimental investigation being carried out to explore the possibilty of treating wastewater containing heavy metals such as Pb, Zn e Cu, using clinoptilolite from a deposit recently discovered in the Tertiary volcanic rocks near to Bonorva in central-north Sardinia. Tests were performed in laboratory and pilot columns on samples of zeolite rock both untreated and Na-exchanged, varying the flow rate of solutions containing the above metals, either singly or in combination. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the zeolites tested especially in Pb cation removal as well as the effect that varying the parameters considered has on the process.

Abstract
This paper concerns an experimental investigation being carried out to explore the possibilty of treating wastewater containing heavy metals such as Pb, Zn e Cu, using clinoptilolite from a deposit recently discovered in the Tertiary volcanic rocks near to Bonorva in central-north Sardinia. Tests were performed in laboratory and pilot columns on samples of zeolite rock both untreated and Na-exchanged, varying the flow rate of solutions containing the above metals, either singly or in combination. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the zeolites tested especially in Pb cation removal as well as the effect that varying the parameters considered has on the process.I metadati presenti in IRIS UNICA sono rilasciati con licenza Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal, mentre i file delle pubblicazioni sono protetti da diritto d'autore, salvo diversa indicazione.
