The paper is concerned with preliminary tests aimed at establishing the amenability of some gold ores from Southern Sardinia to heap leaching. The results, wich were also compared with those achiveved with reactor leaching tests, demonstrated that these ores respond well to heap cyanidation and provided indications as to the choice of some process parameters.
