Il villaggio minerario di Pranu Sartu: il rilievo di una unità abitativa

The mining village of Pranu Sartu is located within the historic mining district of Sulcis- Iglesiente, in the south-west of Sardinia. This study is part of an interdisciplinary research conducted in a cluster research project which aims to investigate the materials for sustainable construction. The research is intended to the restore and conservation of a house sample unit reduced today in ruins. As stated in the project, the research aims to a reuse which, through the study of materials and building techniques, retrieve the cultural and identity values of the built heritage and landscape. The paper illustrates the activities related to the architectural survey of a residential unit for miners. The architectural survey stands as a founding act of knowledge that, investigating the forms and functions of architecture, realizes the knowledge base necessary for a critical investigation and interpretation of the site.
