Riferimenti topografici nelle Passiones dei martiri sardi

The passiones of ancient martyrs often talk about sites or historical events, that let us improve our knowledges about the different levels of the story. This paper concerns the passiones of the most ancient martyrs of Sardinia (Saturnino, Efisio and Antioco), written in different periods, that have detailed reference to sites and monuments in old Caralis. I tried to relate these sites to the ancient context, putting in evidence their importance in the liturgy and pilgrimage of ancient Christians.

Le passiones dei martiri contengono spesso riferimenti realistici alla realtà topografica dei luoghi in cui sono ambientate o ad eventi storici, che consentono di inquadrare con più precisione i diversi “strati” letterari dei racconti. Nel presente contributo si prendono in esame i testi agiografici relativi ai più antichi martiri sardi (Saturnino, Efisio e Antioco), redatti in tempi diversi, che in contesti cronologici differenti inseriscono precisi richiami a luoghi e monumenti, soprattutto dell’antica Caralis. Si cerca, quindi, di contestualizzare tali riferimenti, valutando anche la loro importanza in relazione ai percorsi liturgici e devozionali.
