The architecture of a phenomenological simulator designed for evaluating automatic non-invasive blood pressure monitors is described and the results of characterization tests are reported. The simulator has been calibrated over the entire range of interest by a professional Dinamap 1846 SX monitor manufactured by Critikon, and then a Diasys Integra has been used to validate the system. The analysis has been made for the auscultatory and oscillometric methods.
