The aim of this paper is to single out, moving from the Aristotelic definition of metaphor, the peculiarities of the comic use of literary images (metaphors and similes). It is in particular emphasized the ‘distorsing’ effect of comic images, obtained by recourse to elements of comparison foreign to the context and sometimes wholly inconsistent with it.

Abstract
