The archaeological complex of Cuccurada is located near the present village of Mogoro, situated in the central-western Sardinia (Italy). In this archaeological area there is, together with other vestiges, an original proto-historic monument, a "nuraghe", relevant to the Nuragic civilization, which is developed in Sardinia from the Middle Bronze Age until the Iron Age (XXIII-VI century BC). The scientific inquiry, which began in 1994, has revealed the presence of a settlement directly connected to the nuraghe, relevant to the phases of the Bronze Age. This village is made up of a few huts located outside of the nuraghe (in the area in front of the entrance, to the southeast of the monument), both inside the nuraghe itself, in the large central courtyard. The huts located inside the courtyard are particularly interesting, with an arrangement of the interior space which is not present, for this period, in the entire island of Sardinia.
